NIGHTINGALE

The Nightingale project addresses the deepening inequalities in healthcare access faced by women in marginalized and isolated communities across Europe. It is primarily designed for women from rural and disadvantaged urban areas, migrants, Roma communities, single mothers, and women facing socioeconomic hardship. These groups often encounter barriers such as financial insecurity, language barriers, or a lack of digital skills, which prevent them from effectively managing their own health. The project aims to dismantle these obstacles and provide a safe, inclusive space for learning and mutual support.
The project's primary benefit is the enhancement of health literacy and women's self-confidence through an innovative training programme and online support groups. Participants will gain practical skills in searching for verified information, identifying misinformation, and communicating effectively with healthcare professionals, leading to greater autonomy in their decisions regarding prevention and treatment. Alongside direct support for women, the project strengthens the capacity of adult educators and community workers by providing them with proven methodological tools and frameworks to address long-term gender health disparities.
